Apple Pay is now supported by more than 300 financial institutions

The official list of U.S. banks with cards supporting Apple Pay just broke the 300 mark, with the addition of 12 new financial institutions. The latest partners show that Apple Pay is becoming popular with regional banks as well as national ones, since the newcomers are predominantly smaller institutions.
You can view Apple’s complete list of supported card issuers here. In the meantime, the list of the latest Apple Pay partners includes:

Banner Bank
BayPort Credit Union
California Coast Credit Union
Centier Bank
Community First Credit Union
Glenview State Bank
HAPO Community Credit Union
Prestige Community Credit Union
Provident Credit Union
Staley Credit Union
Synovus Bank
Wood & Huston Bank
While Apple Pay is still only available in the U.S., Cupertino is expected to expand the service to the U.K., Canada, and China in the near future. Hundreds of thousands of stores across more than 65 different retailers currently accept Apple Pay, and users can make in-store payments with an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, or the Apple Watch. On top of that, the handsets and the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 can be used to make online purchases with Apple Pay. Check out the complete list of supported merchants at the Apple Pay Web page.
More news about Apple Pay is expected to arrive at WWDC on June 8, including a possible rewards program that would allow people who use the contactless payment method on a regular basis to build up perks and benefits. Google recently announced its own mobile payment service, Android Pay, and is expected to roll out its own corresponding rewards program. With new competition launching, it will prove vital for Cupertino to continue enhancing and improving upon its Apple Pay service.
